At Merchants Bank, we’ve been helping customers and supporting the communities we serve since 1875. That commitment to service still differentiates Merchants from other financial institutions and is the reason that Merchants Bank has earned the name “The Bank that Service Built.”
Merchants offers a full line of loans and deposit products, such as checking, IRAs, HSAs, mortgages, consumer loans, commercial loans, credit card and Wealth Management services. In addition to the commitment to provide the best in financial products, Merchants shows its commitment to the community by its support of events and organizations through volunteer hours and monetary contributions.
Merchants’ locations include the 1912 architectural gem that serves as the home office in Winona and other community banks across southeastern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin. You will find Merchants Bank locations in Winona, Goodview, St. Charles, Rochester, Spring Grove, Caledonia, Rushford, Lanesboro, La Crescent, Cannon Falls, Red Wing, Hampton, Apple Valley, Cottage Grove, Hastings, Rosemount and Lakeville, MN, and Onalaska and Eau Claire, WI. Merchants Capital Resources, a commercial equipment leasing subsidiary, is also a part of the Merchants family. The “flagship” Merchants Bank in Winona was founded in 1875.

The Merchants Bank logo possesses a streamlined, forward and rhythmic motion which conveys the message that Merchants Bank is a strong organization with an eye on the future. The three shapes, which together create the letter M, are interlocking and woven together giving the appearance of a rope which implies strength and flexibility.
The three shapes which compose the M also represent characteristics inherent to
Merchants Bank. The three shapes represent employees, customers and shareholders as well as the regional, central and local aspects of the organization. They also represent quality products, outstanding service and profitability as well as volunteers, community and relationships. Each builds off another.
A rope is an amazing tool.
Its strength allows one to lift heavy loads, span great distances and tow precious cargo, yet it is flexible enough to secure valuable packages with a simple knot. This tremendous strength and flexibility is made possible by the thousands of individual strands bound together for one purpose.
A rope could teach us a lot about life.
