Erick Maki Promoted to Chief Commercial Banking Officer at Merchants Bank

Merchants Bank has promoted Erick Maki to Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Banking Officer, according to Andrew Guzzo, Chief Banking Officer & Regional President.
In this newly created executive leadership role, Maki will lead Merchants Bank's Commercial Banking division and be responsible for driving growth, deepening client relationships, and delivering exceptional customer experiences across the Bank's Minnesota and Wisconsin markets. As Chief Commercial Banking Officer, he will provide strategic leadership for commercial banking, relationship management of the Bank’s commercial clients, business development, and specialized financing solutions while supporting the Bank's long-term growth objectives. Dan Massett, the Bank’s Regional President for the markets in the Company’s North region will continue to serve in that role under Maki’s leadership for the Commercial Banking unit.

Maki joined Merchants Bank in 2022 as Regional President, overseeing the Bank's South Region. He has more than 20 years of banking and sales experience serving businesses and organizations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, from the Coulee Region to the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Prior to joining Merchants Bank, he served as Market President for Bremer Bank in La Crosse and Vice President of Commercial & Nonprofit Banking.

Maki earned a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Winona State University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bethany St Joseph Corporation (Board Chair), Family Children Center and Three Rivers Community Action Partnership.
