Mike Jensen and Sue Mackert have been named to the Merchants Bank Rochester Advisory Board according to Erick Maki, Regional President-South.
“We are excited to have Mike and Sue join our Advisory Board to share their unique perspectives and help us continue to build strategic connections in the Rochester market,” said Maki. “Having expertise from both industry and nonprofit sectors will be extremely valuable as we grow our presence in the region.”
Mike Jensen is President of Gauthier Industries, a precision stamping and metal fabricator in Rochester. He has been with the company since 1996, starting on the paint line and eventually moving into management positions over his 30-year career. He has been a community leader and volunteer for many organizations, serving on the Enterprise Minnesota Board of Directors and the Minnesota Wild Fan Advisory Board.
“I admire the leadership team at Merchants and have appreciated our partnership for decades,” said Jensen. “I’m looking forward to sharing my insights as a local manufacturer with global reach and our role in the local economy.”
Sue Mackert is Executive Director of PossAbilities, a nonprofit agency that provides services to individuals with disabilities in Minnesota. She built her career in business over last 30 years and has been with PossAbilities since 2020. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation and the Olmstead County Public Health Services Advisory Board.
Sue shares, “I appreciate the corporate culture Merchants fosters, something I’ve experienced firsthand as both a community partner and a customer. I’m eager to work alongside others to strengthen community connections and support local development through this Advisory Board.”
The Board and Advisory Board leadership structure is well established in the Merchants culture and has contributed to the growth of the organization. The Rochester Advisory Board was established in 2017. Advisory Boards across Merchants’ footprint ensure the Bank is connected with the communities served and provides key insights into the local population and economies. Advisory Board members contribute meaningful feedback about what is important to community members and business owners and how Merchants Bank can collaborate on a local level to create thriving communities.
Merchants Bank is a full-service community bank with over 20 locations in southeastern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin and a leasing division, Merchants Bank Equipment Finance, in Edina. Headquartered in Winona, MN, MFGI has more than $2.8 billion in assets. Merchants was founded in 1875.
