Merchants Bank locations in Cottage Grove, Hastings, Rosemount, St. Charles and Winona will hold the 10 Days of Giving campaigns from December 1-10. 


Merchants Bank is proud to coordinate this community effort and grateful for your generosity during the holiday season. Monetary donations or toiletry items can be dropped off at Merchants Bank in Cottage Grove, sent with children to school or can be brought to the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train stop, near the Sieben Bridge, in front of the Youth Service Bureau on December 10 at 5:15 p.m. All donations made at the Holiday Train will benefit the Friends in Need Food Shelf.

This year’s food drive benefits Hastings Family Service. Merchants and area schools will collect monetary donations and non-perishable food items. 

Donations can be dropped at Merchants Bank in Hastings, sent with students to school or can be brought to the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train visit to Hastings, at the Canadian Pacific Depot, 500 East Second Street, 8 p.m., December 9.

This year’s food drive benefits the Hometown Resource Center in St. Charles. Monetary donations and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Bank or participating schools.

Winona’s drive benefits the food shelf at Winona Volunteer Services. To date, more than 3.5 million pounds of food have been collected, with each dollar being counted as two pounds of foods. 

Monetary donations, which are encouraged, or non-perishable food items can dropped off at any of the participating school churches, daycares, businesses or any Winona Merchants Bank location. Here are some of the events that support the 10 Days of Giving food drive:

Winter Wonderland Snow Village

Come see this spectacular showcasing of a local snow village. Tour the beautiful collection displayed throughout multiple rooms. Admission is the gift of non-perishable food items or monetary donation.

Open Skate For A Cause  1:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. | Bud King Ice Arena, 670 East Front Street in Winona

Come enjoy an afternoon of ice skating for all ages.  Santa Claus will make an appearance accompanied by holiday music and ice skating games. The ice rink’s lobby will also have table activities available for non-skaters.

Admission is simply a cash donation or donation of non-perishable food items. Concessions available for purchase.

 

Tuesday, December 3

Beno's Deli Day | 78 East 4th Street in Winona and 1213 Gilmore Avenue in Winona Mall

10% of all sales on December 3 will be donated. Bring in two cans of food and receive $1.00 off the purchase of a sandwich.

An Evening with Santa at 5:00-6:30 p.m. | WSU Kryzsko Commons (Lower Level), 250 West 10th Street in Winona 

Winona State University (WSU) invites the community to visit Santa. Punch and cookies will be served. Admission is the gift of non-perishable food items or monetary donation. With your donation, you'll also receive 20% off purchases at the WSU Bookstore during the event.

 

Friday, December 6

Fish Fry Dinner at 4:30-7:00 p.m. | The Eagles Club #1243, 210 E 4th Street in Winona

Enjoy a fish dinner for only $11. Get your choice of batter-fried or broiled cod, choice of baked potato or fries, dinner roll and refreshments. Dine in or take out. Advanced tickets at Merchants Bank-Downtown Winona. Tickets can also be purchased at the door the night of the event.

 

Saturday, December 7

Holiday Lighted Parade at 5:30 p.m. | 6th Street in Goodview 

The Goodview Activity Group invites all to attend. Enjoy the dazzling lights, Santa and Mrs. Claus and refreshments at Merchants Bank in Goodview. After the parade Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Elks Lodge to greet children. The Goodview Activity Group will also be giving away a boys bike and a girls bike. Bring monetary gifts or non-perishable food items. 

 

Sunday, December 8

Apps & Taps at 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Doors at 10 a.m.) | Port 507, 128 W 2nd Street in Winona

Cheer on the Vikings or Packers while enjoying tap beer specials & appetizers by Anacabe’s Little Kitchen! Leighton Broadcasting will emcee games and draw for attendance prizes every half hour.

Admission is simply a cash donation or donation of non-perishable food items. Doors open at 10:00 AM.

Proceeds benefit the 10 Days of Giving food drive. Drawings will be held on December 8, 2019. No purchase or customer relationship necessary to enter or win. One entry per person. Winner will be notified in person at event. Employees of Merchants Bank are not eligible for the drawing.

Holiday Concert for the Hungry at 2:00 p.m. | WSU Performing Arts Center, 450 Johnson Street in Winona 

Enjoy an annual holiday concert performed by the Winona State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Winona State University Chamber Orchestra. Admission is the gift of non-perishable food items or monetary donation.

 

Monday, December 9

Culver’s of Winona Night | 1441 Service Drive in Winona

10% of all sales on December 9 will be donated.

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train 3:30 p.m. | Amtrak Station, 65 East Mark Street in Winona

Enjoy the sights and entertainment of the Canadian Pacific Railway Lighted Holiday Train. Refreshments will be served by Merchants Bank. Please bring gifts of non-perishable food items or a monetary donation.
