Brian Hokanson Named Market President for Merchants Bank in Cannon Falls

Brian Hokanson has been named Market President for Merchants Bank in Cannon Falls, according to Dan Massett, Regional President.
“We’re excited to welcome Brian back to Merchants to lead our team in Cannon Falls,” said Massett. “Brian has always been a tremendous community banker, and his values and skillset truly align with our culture and the strategic focus here at Merchants.”
Hokanson has over 30 years of banking experience, mainly in agricultural lending and commercial banking roles. He was previously a Senior Vice President & Ag/Commercial Banker at Merchants Bank from 2008-2023.
“I am excited to re-join Merchants Bank as part of the Cannon Fall team! Reconnecting with many customers and community members is something I am really looking forward to,” said Hokanson.
Hokanson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Math Education from Minnesota State University-Mankato. He and his family have owned and operated Hokanson Family Farms in rural Cannon Falls, MN since 1967. An active community leader, Hokanson currently serves on the Board of Directors for Al-Corn Clean Fuel. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, 4-H, the Goodhue County Fair, and as a youth sports referee and coach. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his five grandchildren, as well as attending sporting events and the occasional snowmobiling trip.
