Between vaccines and stimulus checks, fraudsters are still taking advantage of increased online activity and the continued strain on our communities. Exercise more caution than usual and keep an eye out for those in your inner circle who might be vulnerable.

There are three major keys to security that can help keep your information secure:

🚫 Never share your banking login credentials.
🤔 If you receive a message out of the blue that sounds urgent or too good to be true, be suspicious.

✖️ Do not click on any links in unexpected emails or text messages.

Since even new scams have similar red flags, make sure you can spot them:

🚩 Someone asks you to pay with gift cards or a wire transfer.

🚩 They try to create a sense of urgency or panic.

🚩 They use vague terms like, “the authorities,” or “officers.”

🚩 A deal sounds too good to be true.

🚩 You have a nagging feeling that something just “isn’t quite right,” or “feels off.”

If you are not sure about a situation, don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Merchants Bank banker for a second opinion – the security of your information is exceptionally important to us.
